Admission criteria
Only holders of a master degree (possible degrees are medicine, biology, nursing sciences, political sciences, theology, philosophy, psychology, sociology, economics...) will be accepted to the programme.
Students should have a good command of English, both spoken and written. Applicants are required to demonstrate their proficiency in English, either by proving that some of their previous studies were successfully completed in English, or by submitting the results of a recognized language proficiency test such as IELTS (Academic version, overall band score of at least 6.5) or TOEFL (minimum score of at least 580 (paper-based) or 237 (computer based) or 92 (internet based) will be accepted).
The admission policy is intended to ensure equal opportunity of access to higher education for qualified European and third country students. The programme will assess students individually on the basis of their previous academic record, their experience in the field of health care and a letter of motivation. Some students may be asked for a (telephone) interview.
Tuition fee
The tuition fee is:
8000 euro/year for non-EEA students
4000 euro/year for EEA students
For part time students the yearly tuition fee will be calculated on the basis of the credits.
The tuition fee covers the institutional enrolment at the hosting institutions and includes:
- access to all courses
- the examination fees
The tuition fee also gives the students the right to the following:
a) support from the student services of the university:
- access to universal social services: student employment office, medical and psychotherapeutic centres, student restaurants, and study advise office;
- access to selective social services: student housing, in accordance with the criteria stipulated by the services;
b) use of the library in accordance with the library regulations of the institution
c) use of the information technology infrastructure in accordance with the specific regulations of the institution
d) education support through the Toledo electronic learning environment (Toledo.kuleuven.be).
Students are expected to finance their accommodation, living cost, obligatory European insurance and travel costs themselves. The respective institutes have services for foreign students that can provide assistance in arranging accommodation, insurances and other living arrangements.
