Mobility scheme

The Erasmus Mundus Master of Bioethics is a one year programme running from the end of September till the end of June. Students enrolled in this programme are full-time students.

Each participating university provides a cluster of courses for the period the students are staying in their institution and guides the students in their research activities. The students stay approximately an equal period of time in the three partner institutions. In September all students are welcomed in Leuven. They will participate in orientation days organized by the university and will receive the opportunity to study Dutch, Italian or another language.

The time schedule will approximately be the following:

  • September: Official opening of the academic year at KU Leuven, Belgium
  • September: Arrival of international students: language courses, orientations days...
  • September till end of January courses and exams at KU Leuven, Belgium
  • February till end of March: courses and exams at R.U.Nijmegen, The Netherlands
  • April till end of June: courses and exams at University of Padova, Italy

For those who want to combine work and studies, the Erasmus Mundus Master of Bioethics offers Intensive Courses in Leuven, Nijmegen and Padova.The intensive courses deal with the basic topics in the field of bioethics. Among the topics included are palliative care and euthanasia, research ethics, ethics of genetics, nursing ethics... Every year various bioethics courses are offered. The topics taught at every university are based on the focus and strength of the research that is performed at these universities, which ensures that for each topic the best quality courses are offered in the programme.
