The faculty board

Within the Faculty of Medicine resides a Faculty board which has a coördinating responsibilty.

The members of the board are:

 

  1. the dean and chair: Prof. Dr. B. Himpens

  3. the chair of the general POC and vice dean of Education

The faculty council

The faculty council consists of:

  1. members of the senior academic staff of the Faculty for at least 80% associated to the K.U.Leuven and the research managers of level 3
  2. 10 members of the remaining part-time senior academic staff, elected for a term of two years by their echelon
  3. four members of the AAP-BAP (assistant or associate academic staff), two belonging to the medicine specialists in training with a faculty mandate and two other members belonging to the AAP-BAP. The medicine specialists in training are elected for a term of one year by their echelon, the other members of the AAP-BAP section are elected by their echelon for a term of two years
  4. 3 members of the Administrative and Technical Personnel elected for a term of four years by their echelon
  5. a number of students equal to 10% of the total number members of the Faculty Council. All programs of the Faculty of Medicine, including the students of the courses at the KULAK and the Master in Specialist Studies in Medicine, must be represented in balance

 

The same conditions for eligibility and to be entitled to vote as at the elections in the Academic Council apply to the echelons mentioned in point 3 and 4.

The elections mentioned sub 2, 3 and 4 are organized by the Administrative Director under the supervision of the dean.
