Exemptions

Students can request an exemption for:

  • Advanced studies in algology part 1
  • Clinical Internship part 1 & 2

Exemption via EVK procedure (previously obtained qualifications)

Advanced studies in algology part 1

All students who have followed a course week in the past and have taken and passed the exam can request an exemption via EVK for 'Advanced studies in algology part 1'.

Clinical Internship part 1 & 2

Students who have worked in a pain centre (3 months) in the past and who were evaluated during that period can request an exemption via EVK for 'Clinical Internship part 1&2'.

Procedure

  • Students who wish to request an exemption via EVK procedure, should do so at the moment of first registration via the algology e-mail address.
  • For the 'Advanced studies in algology part 1' students should send in the proof that they have passed the exam via the algology e-mail address.
  • For the 'Clinical Internship part 1&2' students should send in an attestation drawn up by the pain centre mentioning the period they have worked there and the fact that they were positively evaluated during that period. The attestation should be signed by the head of department of the pain centre.
  • The Steering Committee will approve your request.

Exemption via EVC procedure (previously obtained competences)

Advanced studies in algology part 1

All students who have followed a course week in the past but who did not participate to an exam can request an exemption via EVC for 'Advanced studies in algology part 1'.

Clinical Internship part 1 & 2

  • Students who have worked in a pain centre (3 months) in the past but who were not evaluated during this internship can request an exemption via EVC for 'Clinical Internship part 1&2'.
  • Specialists who are currently working in a pain centre can also request an exemption via EVC procedure for 'Clinical Internship part 1&2'.

Procedure

  • Students who wish to request an exemption via EVC procedure, should do so at the moment of first registration via the algology e-mail address.
  • Through a peer interview, the steering committee will test the competences of the student after which she/he will or will not be granted the exemption.

Date of Peer Assessment: September 4th at UZ Leuven, Campus Gasthuisberg, Onderwijs & Navorsing 

Cost

The cost for exemptions via EVC procedure equals 105€.

Reduced registration fee

  • Students who obtained an exemption for the 'Advanced studies in algology part 1' will pay 500€ less registration fee.
  • Students who obtained an exemption for the 'Clinical internship part 1&2' will pay 250€ less registration fee.
